Crochet Cupcake Block

Today I'm sharing a chart to crochet a cute cupcake block. The finished size is about 9 1/2 x 8 inches. These make great quilt blocks or potholders, if you aren't that ambitious. :o)

Pattern

With A
Ch 34
Row 1: Ch1, turn, sc into each across - 34 sts
Row 2: Repeat row 1 - 34 sts
Row 3: Ch1, turn, sc 9, change to B, sc 16, change to A, sc 9 - 34 sts

For remaining rows, continue this pattern, changing colors as the chart indicates.

For pot holders, you can just drop the color you are working on and pick it up later when changing colors to avoid creating a bunch of ends to tie off. Of course, then you need to crochet a second block and crochet them together back to back. If making an afghan, you'll have a lot of ends to weave in. ;o) Unless you choose to back it with something which a project I do not have patience for! Good luck!
